Entire Letter (ink rather faded but clearly dated inside as written on Xmas Day 25th DEC, one more side not scanned) charged 4d postage with good GLOUCESTER double arc cds on Reverse (showing only the 2 and no 5 struck in date) - red wax seal 'THUS BRIGHTER THINGS ARE SOUGHT' motto surrounding insects attracted to a candle flame, small piece of flap cut away on opening. Presumably posted the same day but we shall never know for certain. The UNIFORM 4d POST period only lasted FIVE WEEKS from DEC 5th 1939. GLOUCESTERSHIRE, WORCESTERSHIRE.
