They were made in 1939 by an artist that was putting on puppet/marrionette shows for children. Many of her pieces were accompanied with a handpainted matching waterercolor. The artist's name is M. Foster. She died at age 91.

They are made of wood, cloth and retain their original clothing.

They measures approximately 15" long. The original water color measures approximately 10 x 14"

In primitive antique condition with age related wear and tear along with discoloration and staining. The heads are made of plaster or perhaps paper-mache - the body is made of wood and cloth. The strings are tangled and knotted. They will most likely need to be restrung. Some breakage and cracks in the wood. Their outfits are dirty and discolored with some loss. Please see photos.
