The Walthers Track 948-83004 Code 83 Nickel Silver Bridge Track Set is a 36-inch (914mm) section of HO scale bridge track designed to detail your bridges and viaducts with prototypically correct heavy-rail track. Code 83 rail represents the 132-pound prototype rail uséd on most modern main lines, giving your bridge scenes a more accurate appearance than oversized Code 100 rail. The set includes the bridge track, two end pieces, and end-piece "wood" filler ties, all fully assembled and ready to install on your layout.

FAQ
What's the difference between Code 83 and Code 100?
The number is the rail height in thousandths of an inch. Code 83 (.083") models 132-pound prototype rail and looks more prototypical for modern main lines. Code 100 (.100") models 150-pound rail and is the older industry standard. Both are HO scale and work on the same layout with transition joiners.
Is this track compatible with other HO Code 83 track?
Yes. It joins to virtually any Code 83 flex track or sectional track from Atlas, Walthers, Peco Code 83, and other manufacturers using the included end pieces.
What does "bridge track" mean — does it include a bridge?
No, this is the track that runs ON a bridge or trestle, not the bridge itself. The thinner ties and bridge-style detail are designed to look correct on top of a bridge deck. It's intended for use with separately-sold bridge kits.
Is this DCC-compatible?
Yes. Nickel silver rail handles both DC and DCC operation with no modification needed.

Squeaky’s Trains & Things LLC was founded in December of 2019. It was started by our family that has been in love with everything, trains large and small, driven by creativity since we were born. We grew up playing with model trains and watching, learning about and studying different aspects of magnificent locomotives on a daily basis and today we still do.
