Start a War is a strong example of Static-X’s signature sound, combining the mechanical hardness of industrial metal with the driving groove of nu metal. Its churning riffs, pounding rhythms, and Wayne Static’s sharp, urgent vocal delivery create a constant sense of pressure and motion. The album feels aggressive and abrasive, but it is also tightly controlled, with a very clear sense of rhythm and repetition that makes the songs hit hard. It captures the band’s cold, relentless, and highly addictive energy extremely well.
