Broadway Limited's HO scale EMD GP30 brings Southern Pacific's iconic "Bloody Nose" #5012 to your layout, rendered with road-specific detailing and the all-new Paragon4 sound and DCC system. The GP30 was EMD's response to GE's U25B and a turning point in the second-generation diesel race — 948 were built between 1961 and 1963, and SP rostered them as core mainline power for decades. With Rolling Thunder bass, GoPack capacitor packs, and individually controllable lighting, this is a layout-ready locomotive that runs as good as it looks.

Will it run on a DC layout right out of the box?
Yes. Paragon4 is a true dual-mode decoder — you can run it on standard analog DC or on any DCC system without any changes.
Does the sound work in DC mode?
Yes. The integral GoPack capacitor pack keeps audio playing reliably even on dirty track or through dead spots, in both DC and DCC.
What's "Rolling Thunder"?
Broadway Limited's accessory subwoofer system that adds prototype-level low bass. The locomotive's onboard speaker handles full audio on its own; Rolling Thunder is optional.
What era is this Southern Pacific scheme correct for?
The "Bloody Nose" scarlet-and-gray scheme appeared in 1958 and ran through the SP merger in 1996, so this engine fits any 1960s-through-mid-1990s SP layout.

Squeaky’s Trains & Things LLC was founded in December of 2019. It was started by our family that has been in love with everything, trains large and small, driven by creativity since we were born.
