The standard AIMVISION uses a resin rear section. The PRO replaces it with a machined brass rear barrel — the entire body from crown to tip is brass. This means the PRO has a heavier, more balanced feel in hand and completely eliminates the micro-flex and subtle rattle that plastic rear sections introduce during precise linework. The front section is a single monolithic brass unit, machined to keep the lead guide absolutely concentric and rigid. For drafting or technical drawing where line consistency over hundreds of strokes matters, a pencil that moves predictably is not optional — it is the point.

Hardness Display Dial — Know Your Lead Grade Without Opening the Barrel

KAYOU+ developed a hardness display dial unique to the AIMVISION series — set the dial to the lead grade loaded in the pencil and read it at a glance on the barrel. When switching between HB, H, and 2H for different drawing stages, the dial eliminates guesswork. The grip section and crown are both finished with knurling — the same machining technique used on precision tools. The clip is kept intentionally short so it clears the hand in any grip position, including the low-angle drafting grip. These are not aesthetic decisions; they are functional ones.

Monolithic Brass Front Section

The front section is machined from a single piece of brass — no seams, no joins, no movement between components. The lead guide sits concentrically within this rigid unit, keeping the tip geometry consistent through any grip pressure or writing angle. This is standard practice in precision drafting instruments and marks a clear distinction from consumer-grade pencils with segmented or plastic-insert front sections.

Full Brass Rear Section (PRO exclusive)

Unlike the standard AIMVISION, the PRO uses machined brass for the rear barrel as well. This raises total weight to approximately 26 g — heavier than typical pencils — and shifts the balance point slightly toward the barrel midpoint. Writers who prefer a heavier instrument, or who are accustomed to the feel of machined metal pens, will find this weight distribution natural and stable in hand.

Hardness Display Dial

KAYOU+'s proprietary dial system lets you mark the loaded lead grade on the barrel so it reads visually during use. Set it once when loading a new lead, and the grade is always visible on the barrel exterior. Particularly useful when managing multiple pencils loaded with different hardness grades across a drawing session — the dial replaces the need for tape labels or colour coding.

Knurled Grip and Crown

Both the grip section and the crown (knock button area) are finished with knurling — the same surface pattern used on precision tools and machine controls. The knurling provides consistent bite in any direction, so grip does not shift during rotation or when switching between fingertip and barrel-resting grip styles. The texture is fine enough to avoid fatigue during extended sessions.

Short Non-Interfering Clip

The clip is intentionally short — positioned high on the barrel to keep it completely clear of the hand during writing. Long clips on drafting pencils create a point of contact pressure between the clip and the index finger, particularly in low-angle holds. The AIMVISION PRO's clip is placed to eliminate this interference without sacrificing function as a pocket or notebook clip.
