This is an Antique early English embroidered/ needlework sampler by Sarah Blundy aged 13 years.  It looks Georgian, from the early 19th century and is dated in the bottom right corner 1817? but we are not certain.  The sampler appears to have been worked on a very fine linen type fabric and you can see round the frayed edges where it may have been nailed on to a frame when being made.  This fine embroidery is very detailed.  The blue ink from the era seems to have smudged and the cream stitched lettering is very difficult to read.  We cannot read all that it says before the middle part of the piece decorated with crowns, flowers, trees, birds, lions and a person looking to hold a spade.  Underneath these pictures are some more words and we can make out numbers from 1 to 19.  This is a very interesting and historical framed piece.

The sampler in its frame measures 40 cms long x 51 cms tall and the frame is 2.5 cms deep approx.  The needlework piece of material inside the frame measures 34 cms long x 45 cms .  The brown wood frame shows some age related wear, scuffs to the wood.  This piece looks to have been professionally framed details on the label on the reverse.
