certified to Hanadama (花珠) grade — the pinnacle of MIKIMOTO's pearl
classification system. Founded in 1893 by Kokichi Mikimoto, the inventor of cultured pearls, MIKIMOTO is the world's foremost authority on Japanese pearl jewellery
and the standard against which all akoya pearls are internationally measured.
Hanadama (花珠) denotes only the most exceptional tier of akoya pearl: stones selected for extraordinary lustre, near-flawless surface, precise roundness, and a refined rosé overtone.
These are hon-shinju (本真珠) — genuine cultured pearls, not imitation —
representing the highest quality available within the MIKIMOTO range.
The pearls present with deep, mirror-like lustre throughout the strand.
