Here is a 1950s or early 1960s tin friction Vista Coach tour bus with maker stamps from Hayashi Manufacturing and Asakusa Toy & Doll Co. This toy is based on a bus from Japan, I think, because the steering wheel is on the right hand side. The toy shows plenty of wear from play; there are scratches and bends in the tin in several places around the vehicle. I believe there would have been a plastic windshield originally, too, and that is missing. The toy has stood up well through all that play. It's still tight, the wheel covers are all in place, and the friction motor works beautifully. I don't know how the relationship between Hayashi and Asakusa worked, but it appears that they produced quality tin toys together. Overall dimensions are approximately 12 1/2"L x 3 1/2"W x 4 1/4"T.
