Characteristics of Afterglow Bougainvillea Cuttings
How to Root Afterglow Bougainvillea Cuttings
  1. Select and Cut: Select healthy, mature stems and cut 6- to 8-inch sections at a 45° angle just below a node.
  2. Prepare the Cutting: Remove all flowers, thorns, and lower leaves, leaving only 2-3 leaves at the top to reduce moisture loss.
  3. Use Rooting Hormone: Dip the base (approx. 1-2 inches) into a rooting hormone powder to enhance success rates.
  4. Planting: Insert the cuttings 2-3 inches deep into a pot filled with a moist, well-draining potting mix (e.g., potting soil mixed with perlite or sand).
  5. Humidity and Light: Cover the cuttings with a clear plastic bag or place them in a covered container to create a greenhouse effect, providing high humidity.
  6. Conditions: Place in warm, bright, indirect sunlight.
  7. Maintenance: Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged to prevent rot. Roots generally take 6–12 weeks to establish.
