Offered for sale is a vintage Tudor Prince Date men’s wristwatch housed in a solid 9-carat gold case (0.375). The watch measures approximately 34mm excluding the crown and dates from the 1960s. It features Tudor’s renowned Rotor Self-Winding automatic movement, closely associated with Rolex engineering of the period.
Condition
The watch is in working order: it winds, runs and keeps time, and the date function changes correctly. This example is fitted with the highly desirable roulette date wheel (alternating red and black numerals), which is considerably more collectible and sought after than a standard single-colour date.
One of the most charming features of this watch is the presence of the Tudor Rose on the dial — an iconic early hallmark of the brand, found only on historic Tudor models. It gives the watch a distinctive character and adds genuine collector appeal.
Solid 9K gold case with hallmarks visible inside the case back
Attractive natural patina on the dial and case, consistent with age
Minor surface scratches and signs of wear expected from a 60+ year old vintage piece
Plexiglass crystal with light marks
Leather strap, previously worn but still presentable
