20XX, Japan.

In an effort to overcome a severe economic recession, a massive casino resort was developed—

a special administrative district known as “Shinkoumi.”

Once part of Tokyo’s waterfront subcenter, this area has effectively become an independent state,

governed by a private casino organization known as the Takasato Group.

Despite the ongoing recession, the city maintains a certain level of prosperity.

In an uncertain world where no one can predict tomorrow,

people flock to Shinkoumi—some chasing dreams of sudden wealth, others seeking escape from their frustrations.

As a result, the city has descended into disorder.

Crime is rampant, and an atmosphere of decadence lingers throughout.

The protagonist, Towa, lives in this city, staying at the clinic of an acquaintance, a doctor named Taku.

He spends his days aimlessly, living a self-indulgent and fleeting lifestyle without concern for the future.

Towa has a unique obsession:

to depict human desire through his art.

He creates oil paintings inspired by the suppressed desires buried deep within people—desires on the verge of eruption.

By drawing out these emotions from others and experiencing them firsthand, he channels them into his work.

As an artist, he is known by the name “euphoria.”

Even if fulfilling these desires leads both himself and others to the brink of destruction,

it does not matter to him—

Because, to those involved, that may be their version of “happiness.”
