The poster is one of the most lively and, at the same time, the most complex areas in graphic design, in art. The Soviet poster is a truly unique phenomenon, and in different years the authors of famous posters were outstanding Soviet artists, leading people of their time.

The best artists of their time worked on propaganda posters, famous poets wrote slogans - thus, unique graphic schools were formed. Nowhere in the world did they teach the poster purposefully and systematically, as it was in the USSR.

Rare Soviet posters today have to be searched for in different countries of the world. It's a paradox, but what was created in only a few copies and is known only to collectors is sometimes easier to find than what was produced in thousands of copies. Of the millions of campaign posters that have adorned the streets, classrooms, classrooms and hospital corridors for many decades, only a few have survived.

Posters of the Soviet era are not only original works of graphic art, antiques and antique graphics, original retro gifts and interior items, but also truly historical documents.

This poster also focuses on civil defense and is divided into two training sections: actions during epidemics and natural disasters.
1. The work of sanitary brigades in infectious disease outbreaks (top, No. 23)
This section is dedicated to combating the spread of infections (epidemics).
Equipment (Fig. 1): A complete set of protective clothing is shown—a plague suit, including overalls, hood, goggles, a respirator (or cotton-gauze bandage), gloves, and boots.
Preparation of disinfectant solutions (Fig. 2): Instructions for diluting chloramine (2% solution) and bleach (10% solution) for disinfection.
Disinfection measures (Figs. 3–9):
Treating door handles and entrance areas (Fig. 3).
Boiling linens and dishes (Fig. 4).
Wet cleaning of premises with antiseptics (Fig. 5).
Hand sanitization and personal hygiene (Figs. 6, 7).
Sanitary treatment of people (showers) and disinfection of clothing in special chambers (Figs. 8, 9).
2. Organization of the work of ambulance teams during natural disasters (lower part, No. 24)
This section illustrates actions during various natural disasters.
Earthquake (Fig. 1): Ambulance teams extract victims from the rubble of destroyed buildings and provide first aid on the spot.
Flood (Fig. 2): Rescue people from flooded areas using boats and other watercraft, providing assistance to victims of hypothermia or drowning.
Fire (Fig. 3): Evacuate people from burning buildings and provide first aid for burns and carbon monoxide poisoning.
General rescue operations (Fig. 4): Setting up medical stations in the field, loading the wounded into helicopters and special vehicles for delivery to the hospital.
These posters taught a clear sequence of actions: protection – threat containment – ​​assistance – evacuation.
