***Handling & Shipping charges can sometimes be combined/discounted but please keep in mind that the careful handling (varnishing, preparing, and packing) of my paintings, post-easel work, is a true labor of love that Carmen and Marissa gladly help with. We do not charge a lot for all the extra work to carefully provide a safe delivery of your new art piece and we have not raised our prices in over 20 years of online art selling. In fact, for both commissioned paintings and shipping we have actually lowered prices. However, despite our pioneering efforts to alleviate barren wall syndrome and to combat worldwide inflation, ALL our costs have continued to rise. Because of that we can no longer offer combined /discounted shipping for the smaller study-sized canvas paintings. We request that auction-won paintings not be immediately re-sold on online auction sites.
Retail/gallery price/value would be approx. $6 per square inch of canvas. An18x24 Hawkins original cloudscape recently sold at an estate auction for $3800. Many have sold for more than $2000 and large works upwards of $5000-$10,000. This is collectable, affordable, genuine fine art by a (still) living American artist.

Please be patient with me as I work to paint, photograph, list for sale and package our little attempts at making the walls a better place to live (for our eyes). My wife Carmen helps me a lot as do a couple of the kids (grown but not forgotten!). This painting was made in the studio. I typically work from reference images such as past paintings, studies painted from life or photographs.  I have done quite a bit of painting "en plein air" but mostly I paint in the studio creating works that are either inspired by references mentioned above or from the many fond and indelible recollections of the 4000 plus paintings I've made over the past 38 years .
