This is a great lens for someone starting their photography journey. Compatible with Sony e-mount cameras, you can put this on a wide range of great cameras! Unfortunately, there is a bit of dust under the first lens element which does affect a bit of the image quality. However, it’s very minimal and won’t affect someone getting started.
