This image is a portrait of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati (1871–1953), widely known by the title Guru Dev. He was the Shankaracharya of the Jyotir Math (the northern monastery of the four cardinal institutions established by Adi Shankara) from 1941 to 1953.
The classic lithograph of Shankaracharya Brahmananda Saraswati, also known as "Guru Dev", is based on the painting by the renowned Indian artist M.T.V. Acharya (1920–c.1992) around early 1956.
This framed lithograph dates back to the mid or late 1960s ... we think?
