Roughly 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 size.   with 2 "cotton" tie strings. 

 inside cloth is a darker green.   out side is a brownish green color.

Earlier in the production these were called ; protection bag = Staubschutzbeutel and left the factory in  brown paper folded up , in a quantity of 25 , & paper marked.

later they were called; muzzle protector = Mundungsschoner and left the factory in folded up brown paper, in a quantity of 8 , and  paper Not usually marked.

      usually found in the gunners' pouch.

intended to be put over the muzzle and shot through when needed.

 rare item these days.      what I have all look the same.
