The protagonist, Takahane Kousei, was living an ordinary student life.

But one day, he suddenly dies in an unexpected accident.

And then, something impossible happens.

Kousei awakens — even though he was supposed to be dead.

However, it is not the afterlife that greets him.

It is the morning of the very same day he died.

Confused and unable to comprehend what is happening, he lives through the same day once again. This is no prophetic dream or simple déjà vu — the flow of events unfolds exactly the same way.

Overcome with fear, he visits the site of the fatal accident.

And at the very moment of his death—

He encounters a Grim Reaper and a cat that speaks in human language.

Then he is told:

“Your death has not yet been avoided.”

In order to escape his doomed fate, Kousei must assist the Grim Reaper with their work.

The method?

For some reason… he must open a café.

Thus begins his strange battle against destiny.
