This medieval bronze coin dates to the reign of the Abbasid caliph Hārūn al-Rashīd (AD 786–809), one of the most celebrated rulers of the Islamic Golden Age. The specific date range of AD 790–792 places this piece early in his caliphate, during a period known for administrative refinement, expanding trade networks, and vibrant cultural and intellectual life centered in Baghdad.

The obverse features a three-line central inscription surrounded by a circular marginal legend, all enclosed within two thin rings—a characteristic design of Abbasid copper and bronze issues. These elegant, text-based designs emphasize the caliphate’s dedication to epigraphic artistry and religious declarations in place of figural imagery.

The reverse presents a five-line central inscription, also framed by double circular borders and an outer legend.
