Double-breasted dark navy wool dress tunic featuring original gilt maritime buttons by Firmin (London), noted military and maritime button makers.

The sleeves display three rings of gold lace with the distinctive engineer’s diamond device, identifying this as a Merchant Navy Engineering Officer’s tunic, consistent with the rank of Chief Engineer Officer.

Tailor-made construction using period materials and stitching. No remaining interior labels, which is not uncommon with privately tailored uniforms of this era.

Overall condition is good for age, with expected wear consistent with service use. No modern alterations observed.

A genuine and attractive piece of British maritime militaria, suitable for collectors, display, or study.
