This is a masterfully tuned unit purchased from Vintage Audio TAKUMI about 5 years ago.
The dry, American sound pops out nicely. The bass is clean and well-organized, so even at high volume the lows don't get out of whack, and I was delighted to be bathed in the precise, flat sound quality at high volume.
-This product has been meticulously maintained to address all concerns, not only restoring it to its original condition as a JBL 4301, but also further improving and tuning the sound quality.
1. It is made up of an original urethane edge, and is reinforced with silicone rubber to increase durability.
2. The woofer and tweeter were disassembled, rust was removed, and oil was applied, among other overhauls and restoration work.
3. All of the woofer and tweeter network capacitors were replaced with new, high-precision capacitors.
4. After more than 30 years of use, the damper, which is the core of the woofer unit, had worn out, so a strengthening agent was applied to restore its strength.
5. The attenuator was disassembled and the inside was cleaned, and there was no scratchiness whatsoever.
6. The wiring for the woofer has been replaced with MOGAMI cable, which boasts world-class resolution.
7. We placed particular emphasis on the sound output, replacing the plugs with gold-plated ones that are compatible with extra-thick cables and banana plugs, to meet the user's demands for operability and sound quality.
8. All contacts are cleaned, and the solder surface of the network is polished with anhydrous alcohol to completely remove old flux. The aged solder is then corrected with lead-free silver solder specifically for audio use, maximizing the electrical conductivity.
There was a small amount of wood peeling off the bottom of one side. Please see the photo.
