Vintage melamine serving tray produced by PUBLIPLAST S.A., Hecho en México, dating to the circa 1970 FIFA World Cup (México ’70). The graphic design features a central soccer ball motif surrounded by the names of participating national teams, including Brasil, Inglaterra, Italia, México, Uruguay, U.R.S.S., Checoslovaquia, Israel, Marruecos, Perú, and others—matching the official lineup of the 1970 World Cup.
The reverse bears the original molded maker’s mark:
“PUBLIPLAST S.A. – San Andrés Atoto #67 – San Bartolo Naucalpan – Estado de México – Hecho en México”, confirming Mexican manufacture during the period when melamine was widely used for promotional and souvenir housewares.
This piece would have been sold as a World Cup souvenir or promotional item, rather than everyday tableware. The bold typography, international country list, and soccer iconography make it especially appealing to World Cup collectors, football memorabilia enthusiasts, and fans of mid-century / early-1970s graphic design.
