For sale is a double remarqued limited edition print by J.W. Mitchell. The print comes with a certificate of authenticity from Mirage Fine Art.

The print is in excellent condition, never framed, and stored flat in a nonsmoking environment. The overall size of the print is 25" x 19.5".

The print is signed by Air Commodore H.I. Cozens and the artist.

 

The print depicts 19 Squadron Gauntlets biplane on the ground while overhead, Squadron leader Cozens makes a low run in the Merlin engine Spitfire.  The original oil painting was specially commissioned to commemorate the 50^th anniversary of the Spitfire’s entry into Royal Air Force Service.  J.W. Mitchell is a nephew of Reginald (R.J) Mitchell, C.B.E. designer of the Spitfire.
