• This surgical black hard Arkansas stone is found only in and around Hot Springs, Arkansas.
• Made of novaculite, it is the finest natural abrasive stone available.
• This stone is a high quality 2nd and may have minimal imperfections, chips, etc. 
• The pictures were taken with a tiny bit of oil on one side to bring out the black.
• The brown and gold patches you see in the stone are impurities in the novaculite and will not affect the sharpening capability.
