These are old carnelian stone trade beads more then likely made in India and traded into West Africa many centuries ago. These beads show a lovely range of deep earth-tone red and brown coloration and some unique weathering patterns and banding. Some of these beads do show some damage and wear consistent with their great age but overall these are in very good condition with a fine patina of tribal use and wear. This is a wonderful group of very old and authentic carnelian stone trade beads for artist, designer, or collector and not to be missed!
