This is a Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle watch, reference number 628.5240, a historically important automatic timepiece. This particular model is a re-edition from the 1990s and is powered by the dependable Caliber L 628.1 movement.

Description:

The Longines Hour Angle watch was originally created for accurate navigation using the stars. It has a complex dial with a rotating inner disc to synchronize the seconds hand. The watch keeps time and the inner dial adjusts as they should. However, the main external navigation feature, the rotating bezel, is missing, so that function is not available.

Condition Details:

• This watch is used and shows light scratches and wear expected for its age. It runs and keeps time well.

• Missing Bezel: The yellow gold rotating bezel that should surround the crystal, which is needed for the "hour angle" calculation, is not on the watch.

• Missing Inner Caseback Cover: The transparent sapphire crystal "dust cover" that usually sits under the hinged metal caseback is also missing.

• The outer hinged cover is present and works.
