The NL-10M navigation ruler is a counting tool for the pilot and navigator and is designed to perform the necessary calculations in preparation for flight and in flight. It is arranged on the principle of a conventional counting slide rule and allows you to replace complex mathematical operations on numbers (multiplication and division) with simpler operations - addition and subtraction of scale segments that express the logarithms of these numbers on a certain scale.

The navigation ruler consists of a body, an engine and a sight. Scales, indexes, formulas and inscriptions are applied on the case and the engine.

NL-10M allows you to solve the following main tasks:

1. Calculation of elements (US, W, MK and t) using a known wind.

2. Determination of wind speed and direction.

3. Determination of the distance traveled, speed and flight time.

4. Accounting for methodological errors of barometric altimeters and airspeed indicators.

5. Determination of the radius of the turn and the turn time for 360 ° and at a given angle.

6. Determining the values ​​of trigonometric functions, multiplying and dividing numbers by trigonometric functions of angles.
