The Nike Air Max 360 II is part of the innovative Air Max 360 series, which represented a major technological milestone for Nike's cushioning technology.
Technological Innovation
First Foamless Midsole: The primary innovation of the Air Max 360 (released in 2006) was the complete elimination of traditional foam in the midsole. This allowed the wearer's foot to sit entirely on an encapsulated, full-length 360-degree Air unit, a first in Nike's history.
Enhanced Durability & Comfort: The design aimed to provide superior cushioning, impact protection, and comfort while dramatically increasing the shoe's durability, as foam midsoles tend to break down over time.
Visible Air: The shoe was designed so the Air unit was visible from every angle, making the technology a core part of its aesthetic, a concept that dates back to the original Air Max 1 in 1987.
