Features hand-enameled scenic panels with pagoda architecture and figural motifs, framed in brass with a hinged lid. The interior is plain brass, consistent with period desk accessories designed for paper items such as stamps.
Likely late 19th to early 20th century Chinese export work. These boxes were commonly sold for use on writing desks and are now collected for their craftsmanship and decorative appeal.
