Offered here is a striking Alfred Shaheen reproduction fabric featuring a bold mid-century Tiki Pagan Primitive in rich brown and golden tones. This fabric captures the iconic Polynesian-inspired aesthetic that made Shaheen designs legendary in the golden age of Hawaiian fashion.
Alfred Shaheen (1923–1985) was one of the most influential designers of mid-century Hawaiian textiles and clothing. Often called “the Dior of Hawaii,” Shaheen elevated resort wear into collectible fashion by commissioning original artwork, insisting on high-quality printing, and producing garments entirely in Hawaii. His designs from the 1950s–1960s are highly sought after today, and officially licensed reproductions like this allow collectors and sewists to enjoy his work without cutting vintage originals.
This piece comes from the Hawaiian Collection (©2010 Alfred Shaheen) and was produced by Westminster Fibers. The graphic Tiki imagery makes it ideal for aloha shirts, dresses, skirts, home décor accents, or framed textile art.
