Grebo mask
"The coastal Grebo live in southeastern Liberia, on the border of the Cote d'Ivoire. They speak a Kru language like the Bassa, their western neighbors, and the Wé and the Bété, their relatives in the Cote d'Ivoire. They earn their living by fishing in rivers and the ocean and as sailors and merchants.
The forest Grebo of the interior cultivate rice and various root crops; they are organized in a patrilinear society with a strong matrilinear tradition. Their art reveals borrowings from the neighboring Dand and Wé."
