How often do I need to replace Weddell Duo’s filters? We recommend replacing the full set of Weddell Duo filter cartridges every 5–6 months under standard water conditions for a single user. Actual replacement timing can vary based on the number of people using the shower, your water quality, and household usage patterns.
Why am I experiencing decreased water pressure after installing Weddell Duo? Low pressure is usually caused by one of two reasons:
1) Installation issue: If the Weddell Duo is not properly aligned with your shower arm, if the O-rings are misaligned, or if too much plumber’s tape was used, it can cause leaks or restrict water flow.
2) Filter at capacity: If your filters are full of sediment and contaminants, you may experience lower pressure. Discoloration of the sediment filter along with a drop in water pressure is a sign it’s time to replace them.
Will Weddell Duo soften my water? No. Weddell Duo is a shower filter designed to reduce contaminants such as chlorine, particulates, and PFAS. It does not remove hardness minerals like calcium or magnesium. If you have very hard water, we recommend pairing Weddell Duo with a water softener for the best results.
Why are my filters slowing down before the suggested lifespan? Shorter lifespans are typically due to your water conditions. High sediment, hard water, or heavy contamination can cause filters to reach capacity faster than the average 5–6 months. If you notice both sediment discoloration and a drop in pressure, it’s time to replace them — even if it’s earlier than expected. For these situations, we recommend our 3+1 Replacement Cartridges, which include extra sediment filters to help maintain flow and extend the performance of your unit.
