Features:
The signal received by the antenna first enters a filtering network. The bandpass filter ensures that the 3-23 MHz signal reaches the source tracking circuit (composed of J310) while attenuating other signals as much as possible. Then, the signal is fed to the TA2003, where a mixer mixes the received signal with the signal from PLL oscillator.
The intermediate frequency (IF) is 10.7 MHz. The signal from the TA2003 is fed to a 10.7 MHz filter, which filters out irrelevant signals generated during mixing. The signal is then amplified by a 2N2222 transistor. The filtered signal is sent to the TA7613 for further IF amplification, detection, and audio amplification. The TA7613 performs amplitude modulation signal detection and has a built-in audio for power that can directly drive speakers.
Component Selection: All capacitors smaller than 1000pF are high-frequency capacitors; capacitors larger than 1uF are aluminum electrolytic capacitors; all resistors are 1/4W 5% fixed resistors.
Soldering Reminder
The display board must be soldered with digital LEDs and pluggable connectors. After installation, see the diagram below.
Assembly and Adjustment
Before installing all components, use a multimeter to test all transistors, resistors, and capacitors. Then install all components according to the circuit diagram and markings on the PCB.
Generally, the installation order should be from low to high. Simultaneously, install the connectors for integrated circuits; this effectively avoids soldering core integrated circuits. Once everything is ready, check and connect the power supply, the positive and negative terminals are correctly connected.
Connect the for Walkman headphones to the headphone jack. After powering on, you will hear white noise. Connect a 3-meter-long flexible cable to the antenna; the noise will increase significantly, indicating that the RF channel is basically working properly.
No-instrument debugging steps:
1. Connect the 3-meter-long cable to the antenna socket and turn on the power.
2. The unit's electrical display frequency is 9.810. The encoder can smoothly tune to a specific AM radio station.
3. At this point, you may hear a sound. Adjust T1 to maximize and minimize the noise.
Do not screw the magnetic core into T1. It is recommended to use a non-inductive driver or a plastic driver for adjustment.
