This adorable and quite rare piano baby is an antique gem from the Thuringia region, Germany, and dates to the second half of the 1800s. This piece is a rare figurine of a seated baby boy holding a sock and a rattle with his hands. His face is highly detailed with intaglio eyes. The style and execution of the piece hints it is potentially a Hertwig & Co. Unfortunately, many Hertwig pieces produced between 1864 to 1914 were not marked.
This baby is a perfect addition to any collection, piano baby and doll collectors and would make a thoughtful gift for a special occasion or loved one.

Condition - The figurine is in excellent condition for its age. The figurine has no chips or damage. There is a fire crack under one of the legs. Please see photos for additional information about the item condition.

Measurements -This large piano baby measures approximately 10” (L) x 9.5″ (W) x 11″ (H).
