Cylinder 4 has long been the most commonly damaged part of the Subaru EJ turbo engine due to a lack of coolant flow.
The 1/3 side of engine has coolant existing to cool the turbo, while the 2/4 side only exits to the crossover.
There exists reduced flow at the back of the head.
--This kit balances the coolant flow by diverting it from the head to the heater core lines, reducing knock and ringland failure risks.
