“Anatomicouture'' is far deeper than a mere design. When questioned in a 2013 Dazed interview, Jun Takahashi outlined the mentality encasing each garment, nodding towards a necessity of expression. He began, “Despite the skeleton and organ motifs, the collection is beautiful and seductive...”, the creative is challenging the human interest between the affinity of beauty, and distaste for ‘ugly’. Takahshi explains, “Ugliness and beauty co-exist in human mentality. I always want to express those emotions.”, and he does so through one of the purest forms of expression, clothing.
