SUPER RARE
Elvis fans won’t need to be told how rare this is – a copy of the book Elvis ‘n Me is rare enough but to find a signed......AND DEDICATED....... copy in the UK is rre. Also this is the first edition cover to the book!
Elvis and Charlie were best friends and first met during their time together in the U.S. Army in Germany in the late 1950s.
Of all the people that let Elvis down (some before and some after his death), Charlie was a true friend to Elvis. They had a friendship that spanned decades.
Charlie was a close friend, confidant, and member of Elvis’s inner circle, commonly known as the “Memphis Mafia.” Their relationship was marked by loyalty, camaraderie, and a genuine bond that extended beyond their roles in Elvis’s career.
Charlie was a backup singer, guitar technician, and provided general support during tours and performances. This included during concerts he would often provide Elvis with water, scarves, and other items, while also singing backup vocals. Their interactions on stage became endearing moments for fans.
Charlie was always there for Elvis, providing emotional support during his highs and lows. He was known for his calming presence and ability to lift Elvis’s spirits during challenging times.
After Elvis’s passing in 1977, Charlie remained connected to the Presley family and continued to be involved in various projects related to Elvis’s legacy. He participated in events, documentaries, and interviews that celebrated Elvis’s memory.
Not like others who let Elvis down, Charlie refused to dishonour Elvis in any way and did not take part in the media scrummage and didn’t seek the financial gain that others did ‘in the name of Elvis’.
He was a true friend who loved Elvis.
He only wrote
the book as he wanted the fans to know some unheard stories and share his life
with Elvis to others. He is said to have given the vast majority of profits
from the book to charity.
It is also widely thought that Charlie only did two book signing sessions from which this was book gained and is no longer alive so this will only become rarer.
To find one of these books with no autograph is rare, to find one signed even more so.
You may find another elsewhere for around £250 - but make sure you are comparing quality as this is as good as it gets!
