BSTFLEX Aluminum fiberglass self-closing wrap is made of aluminum foil, fiberglass and polyester. It has excellent heat insulation, anti-radiation and high temperature resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance.

This aluminized fibreglass sleeve reflects more than 95% of the radiant energy that hits its surface, keeping the underlying cables, hoses and wires cool.

This adhesive heat sleeve works great because you can wrap it around existing wires. Sleeve type heat shields don't work for this application because the wires are terminated with connectors and a sleeve heat shield won't go over the connectors.

When kept clean and dry, these protective measures will usually last the life of the vehicle or power plant within it.

What is the best way to do it?

Disconnecting everything and pushing heat sheathing over the lines is arduous and frequently impossible. With this wrap around fiberglass/aluminum heat sheathing you can wrap everything in place without disconnecting a thing. Just measure it twice and cut it once. Wrap the sheath around it and use the sticky side to close it off. You’re finished!

Installation tips:

Overlap: 25% (supplied smaller than nominal size and opens up to the nominal size)

- first, measure the length and cut before peeling the backing off the adhesive

- then wrap the line you want to protect

- finally, peel back small 2"-4" bits of the adhesive backing at a time and seal that section. Then repeat with the next 2"-4" section.
