Step 1: Apply the product. Apply a small amount of the exfoliating treatment directly onto each cuticle. You can use the applicator or your fingertip to dab a small dot on each nail.
Step 2: Let it work. Massage the product into the cuticle area and allow it to sit for a few minutes. The formula, which contains alpha-hydroxy acid, will gently work to loosen dead skin cells.
Step 3: Prepare the cuticles. After 3-5 minutes, your cuticles should be softened and ready for the next step.
2. The OPI PusherPlus™
This is a professional-grade tool used to gently push back and clean up the cuticles.
Step 1: Using the curved or angled end of the PusherPlus™, gently and slowly push back the softened cuticle from the nail plate. Use light pressure to avoid damaging the nail bed.
Step 2: Clean up. The other end of the tool has a built-in cleaning edge. You can use this to carefully scrape away any loosened dead skin or non-living tissue that remains on the nail plate.
3. Finishing Steps
Step 1: Rinse. After using the PusherPlus™, wash your hands to remove any remaining product or debris.
Step 2: Moisturize. Apply a moisturizing cuticle oil or hand cream to your nails and hands to rehydrate the skin. OPI makes various cuticle oils that work well for this step.
Step 3: Continue your manicure. Your nails are now prepped and ready for the next steps of your manicure, such as applying a base coat, polish, and top coat.
