【Region Lock & Region-Free Summary of Game Consoles】



・Famicom (NES): Region-locked. Overseas cartridges differ in shape and cannot be used directly.

・Super Famicom (SNES): Region-locked. Cartridge shapes differ, preventing insertion.

・Nintendo 64: Region-locked. Different cartridge shapes block use of foreign games.

・Game Boy / GBA: Region-free. No regional restrictions.

・Nintendo DS (early ~Lite): Partially region-free. Standard DS games are free; DSi-only titles depend on region.
