Key Features & What It Does

• The LinkRunner AT 1000 is a handheld network & cable tester designed to verify Ethernet network connectivity (copper) and basic cable testing. 

• Some of its capabilities include:

  • Detecting link speed/duplex of the connected switch port. 

  • Identifying the nearest switch, port, VLAN info via CDP/LLDP/EDP. 

  • Testing Power over Ethernet (PoE) load (for supported PSE) albeit limited compared to later models. 

• It’s also got a “AutoTest” button which runs a suite of tests with one press (cable + network connectivity) so you don’t need to manually go through multiple steps. 

• Cable testing: It can check wiremap/troubles (opens/shorts/split-pairs) and measure cable length on twisted-pair copper. 

• It uses AA batteries (the 1000 model) so you can swap batteries in the field
