How to measure square footage of Leather?
Hides have natural shape so each area of the hide is measured by a computer in tannery to determine square footage of the hide.
Examples of hide measurements:
6 sq ft is not as 6 ft x 6 ft = 36 sq ft in leather square footage.
- 10 sq ft of leather is usually measured 3.6 ft x 3 ft = 10 sq ft
- 100 sq ft of leather is measured 28 ft x 3.8 ft = 100 sq ft
