This is a beautiful and rare antique liturgical vestment, a chasuble, likely from the late 19th or early 20th century. The vestment is made of black silk brocade with a decorative orphrey panel running down the center. The panel features an intricate floral and foliate pattern in a lighter, possibly cream or silver, silk thread. The edges of the vestment are trimmed with a contrasting pale-colored braid or galloon.
