Franciscus "Franz" Cornelius Donders was Professor, Fellow of the Royal Society, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Physiologist, Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, Ophthalmologist, Director of the Netherlands Hospital for Eye Patients, Professor of physiology at the University of Utrecht, One of the primary founders of scientific ophthalmology, and Professor of anatomy at the University of Utrecht.
