This tool will make removal of the starter drive retaining clip a breeze on the common Lucas M35G units used on MGA, Sprite, Midget, Classic Mini, etc.  The plates are stainless steel.  This would work on lots of other starters that require you to compress the drive spring but you may need longer or shorter bolts.  Thread is standard UNC 1/4 20.
