Ultra Mod: MAX FAQs

[Q] What ball types can it use?
[A] You can configure it to use standard Poke Balls, Great Balls or Ultra Balls at any time through Pokémon GO’s Accessory Device Settings.

[Q] Will it automatically switch to another ball type if I run out of the selected type?
[A] No. This is a limitation of Pokémon GO and cannot be done (without modifying the game, which we don’t condone.)

[Q] Will it use my Master Ball(s)?
[A] Nope! These will never be auto thrown and are always saved until you manually choose to throw one during an on-screen encounter. :)

[Q] Does Sleep Tracking still work on the device?
[A] Yes! You can easily track your sleep by disconnecting from Pokémon GO, laying the device flat, and holding the main button until it flashes blue.

[Q] Will the device also work with the Pokémon Sleep App?
[A] Yes! You can configure the device to work with both Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sleep. Just note that Pokémon Sleep may have trouble connecting if the device is ACTIVELY connected to Pokémon GO (i.e., auto-catching), so be sure to end one session before switching to the other.

[Q] Does this new mod do anything the original ULTRA MOD can’t?
[A] Not really, no. This is largely an upgrade to the user experience based on feedback and personal R&D since the original launched in Aug 2023. Its main benefits are eliminating the need for a mod switch, extending battery life by reducing idle drain, and allowing users to device if they want the speak on/off (since it doesn’t need to be removed to accommodate the mod switch housing).

[Q] What devices and operating systems is this compatible with?
[A] Almost any modern Android or Apple device, but please visit the original Pokémon GO Plus + website for full details. Compatibility issues are not covered under our warranty and not eligible for returns, so please verify your devices will work before purchasing!

[Q] Do you offer international shipping?
[A] Yes! We ship to most countries through our Etsy store. Etsy collects customs/import taxes for most regions (e.g., EU, UK, etc), but NOT ALL. Some countries may not allow you to purchase more than one device at a time. Buyers may be responsible for additional taxes/fees on delivery in certain regions (e.g., some Canadian provinces). A good-but-not-perfect rule of thumb: if you don’t pay any tax at checkout -you probably will upon delivery. PLEASE NOTE: By placing an international order, the buyer agrees to pay any (additional) taxes/fees due at purchase and/or on delivery. Any package refused from delivery by the buyer for cost purposes or couriers/officials (i.e., for inability to collect payment) will only be refunded if/when I receive the return, and any original/return shipping charges will detract from the amount owed. [Q] How does the new mod work?
[A] The Ultra Mod: MAX streamlines the highly rated experience of the original by replacing its mod switch with a custom circuit board I’ve designed. Rather than relying on vibration motor activity, the Ultra Mod: MAX processes signals sent to the LEDs to detect when a new or registered Pokémon is nearby and “press” the main button to auto-throw your selection of Poke balls, Great Balls, or Ultra Balls. It also avoids the looping side effect of other mods, making it much easier to use and greatly reducing idle battery drain.

[Q] Are there any drawbacks, quirks, or side effects that come with the new mod?
[A] No, none that we’ve found in testing. The UltraMod: MAX works almost identically to the original GO Plus+, meaning setup and use are even easier than the original ULTRA MOD. No Sleep Tracking loop (blue/red cycling). No idle-pairing loop (constant white flashing). No Quick Reconnect interference.

[Q] Will using this get me banned?
[A] I’ve modified thousands of GO Plus + devices in the last two years, and I’ve never seen/received a single report of account repercussions from using the mod. In my opinion, it is extremely unlikely it will ever impact your account. This is an officially licensed device with (unofficial) physical modifications that simply automates one of its manual features implemented by the developers. The are no changes to the device’s firmware, nor does it alter the game’s software in any way. That said (and for legal reasons), use of this device is always at your own risk, and GadCAD 3D is not responsible for any adverse events causal to or in parallel with the use of its products.

[Q] Why is this mod so much more expensive than the retail GO Plus+?
[A] You’ve probably noticed that the retail device is getting significantly harder to find online. I can’t confirm if they’ve officially stopped production, but I can say that low supply and high tariffs are making it much harder and more expensive to supply these. I am doing my best to keep the price proportional and fair with the time and energy invested into making these possible and the high-quality standards I aim to uphold. Unfortunately, I can’t offer individual discounts at this time, and I only foresee these becoming more expensive as sources diminish and pricing inflate. You are always welcome to provide your own GO Plus+ for modification using one of my alternative Mail-in services or DIY kits! (See below)

[Q] Can I mail-in my pre-owned device and have it modified rather than purchasing a new one?
[A] Soon! I’ll offer a new “UltraMod:MAX Mail-in Service” for pre-owned devices once I have enough components available (ETA: Oct 2025). Please message me for details. 😊

[Q] Can upgrade my original ULTRA MOD to the new Ultra Mod: MAX?
[A] Soon! I’ll offer a discounted “MAX Upgrade for Original ULTRA MODs” mail-in service for owners once I have enough components available (ETA: Oct 2025). Please note that I will not be able to re-install the speaker on these devices, and this offer will not apply to units pre-modified by anyone other than GadCAD 3D.

[Q] Can I just purchase the new circuit board and do the mod myself?
[A] Soon! I plan to offer an all-new “Ultra Mod: MAX - DIY Kit” once I have enough components available (ETA: Oct 2025).

[Q] Can I request a custom faceplate or case design?
[A] No, unfortunately this isn’t something I can offer at this time. Sorry! :(

[Q] Can I replace the included crystal protective case with something else?
[A] Yes! You can use a think pry tool (e.g. a guitar pick) to remove the included case and replace it with any other.
