This is a tack back style lapel, hat, tie pin from NASA commemorating the STS-118 that lifted off on August 8. 2007 from launch pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It landed 13 days later on August 21, 2007 back at the Kennedy Space Center. This was the 22nd shuttle flight to the International Space Station. The outside of the rectangular pin is framed with the astronauts that were on board. There was Richard A Mastracchio (mission specialist), Barbara R. Morgan (mission specialists and NASA's first educator astronaut), Charles O. Hobaugh (pilot), Scott J Kelly (mission commander) and mission specialists Tracy E Caldwell, Alvin Drew and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Dave Williams (see red maple leaf in front of his name). The pin is stamped on the back "STS 118 NASA". It measures approximately 1 inch tall by about 3/4 inches long. Pin is in good pre-owned condition. Light surface wear is present.
