📏 How Metal Signs Are Measured

Metal signs are measured from the widest point to the opposite widest point of the design.
The listed size (8”, 10”, 12”, 18”, 24”, 30”, 36”, etc.) always refers to the longest edge of the artwork, not the height only and not the width only.

Because every design has its own shape and proportions, the other dimension (height or width) will adjust automatically.

🛠 Example (30-Inch Size)

When selecting a 30-inch sign, the longest side of the design will measure 30 inches.

  • If the design is wider than it is tall:

    • Width = 30 inches

    • Height adjusts proportionally (often around 18–22 inches depending on the design)

  • If the design is taller than it is wide:

    • Height = 30 inches

    • Width adjusts proportionally

This ensures the sign keeps its correct proportions and the original shape, no matter which size is selected.
