The leather covered boards are very worn and rubbed and a 3 inch section of backstrip is missing. Both the front and back boards are now only held in place by one cord. The endpapers and title page are stained and scuffed but the pages become increasingly cleaner and they are surprisingly bright and clean with no foxing and no appreciable fading or tanning. Apart from the covers and first and last endpapers, the binding remains good and the pages are tight. Suitable for rebinding or repair to make a good volume.
