YAMAHA YTR-8330EM Eric Miyashiro Signature Model Bb Trumpet
Under the supervision of world-renowned trumpeter Eric Miyashiro, his signature EM model has undergone a model change for the first time in 17 years.
While maintaining the same powerful and explosive sound, the valve casing, which can be called the heart of the trumpet, has been revamped and each part has been redesigned to optimize the blowing feel in the high range and further improve control performance.
The EM model is evolving along with the evolution of artists who are always active at the forefront of the world.
Features
-Newly designed lead pipe and receiver
By providing a moderate resistance, it is easier to aim for the high range, optimizing the blowing feel and control performance.
-Step bore (ML) adopted
A step bore (ML) has been adopted to achieve a balanced blowing feel across the entire range and a uniform sound without unevenness. As a result, the model name will change from YTR-8340EM to YTR-8330EM.
*The main tuning slide is an L bore, the tuning slide is an ML bore, and the piston is an M bore. This allows for a smooth and consistent blowing feel regardless of the combination of pistons 1 to 3, or when released.
-Phosphor bronze parts
In pursuit of the ideal tone and optimal blowing balance, we repeatedly tried out a number of different materials and weights, and for the first time in a Yamaha trumpet, we adopted a phosphor bronze bottom cap and stopper screw.
The brilliant overtones in the high range and the richness of the overtones in the mid range have been improved.
-Main tuning slide support
We use a uniquely shaped support that has less resistance than a normal support, minimizing changes in the blowing feel and resistance while adjusting the sound.
In addition, in order to obtain the optimal blowing feel with this model change, the position of the support has been reviewed and the design has been renewed.
・Bell
A thin, large-diameter, one-piece yellow brass bell (134.4mm diameter) is used to achieve a sound that combines instantaneous power and power.
・French bead (bell rim)
A French bead is used for the bell rim, increasing feedback to the player.
※French bead = A highly advanced method in which a kamaboko-shaped rim is inserted and curled to match the shape of the bell, as opposed to the general method of inserting a perfectly round rim and curling it.
・Side seam
A side seam is used, where the seam is located at the part that stops the vibration with the support or extended seat. This provides a more open vibration.
※Side seam = A method in which the seam is located on the side (valve casing side) of the bell, as opposed to the general method of inserting the seam on the underside of the bell.
・Newly designed mouthpiece
The mouthpiece has also been redesigned to match the YTR-8330EM. The larger outer shape and weight than before not only make the high range clearer and easier to aim at, but also improve the rich tone and playing freedom in all ranges.
The new model will have MK2 (Mark II) added to the end of the model number and engraving. The TR-EM2-MK2, which is sold separately, has a slightly larger rim inner diameter than the TR-EM1-MK2, and is suitable for those who feel that the TR-EM1-MK2 is too small, but the outer design is the same for both models.
-Included case TRC-8340EM
A backpack-type semi-soft case developed as an included case for the EM model. In addition to the YTR-8330EM main body, this double case can store flugelhorns and other trumpets. There are many pockets and other storage spaces, and an original mouthpiece pouch is also included.
